Kraft Tape in Cold Storage: Application Conditions

Kraft Tape in Cold Storage: Application Conditions

Separate application temperature from storage temperature

A tape that performs in cold storage is not necessarily suitable for application to a cold surface. Check the manufacturer's application and service temperature ranges separately. Carton temperature can differ from room temperature.

Check the surface

Condensation, frost, dust and loose fibres can affect adhesion. Keep cartons clean and dry, and allow moisture caused by a temperature change to disappear before application.

Select the right tape

Pressure-sensitive and water-activated tapes require different equipment and conditions. Check the specific product data sheet and confirm suitability for the cold environment. For water-activated products, set the water supply and dispenser according to the supplier's instructions.

Test before shipping

Prepare samples with the actual carton, filled weight and sealing equipment. Observe lifting edges and opening flaps through representative temperature changes and storage periods. A short test alone does not guarantee long-term performance.
