LED lighting orders can combine housings, diffusers, mounting hardware and cables. Reducing contact between components and keeping fittings countable inside the pack is as important as choosing the outer carton.
Identify the luminaire family and sensitive surfaces
Include product length, diffuser material, protruding connections and accessory count in the packing instruction. Consider component weight and movement space inside the carton; use dividers to prevent visible surfaces rubbing directly against each other.
Standardise the inner layout by product variant. Do not leave mounting hardware or screw bags loose on top of a luminaire; check in a closed sample carton whether they press against the housing during handling.
Validate the outer carton and tape together
Trial the actual product against carton dimensions, board construction, packed weight and closure pattern. Tape closes the flap joint; it does not replace inner supports or product restraint. For hand application, check pressure and tape ends; for machine use, confirm roll and line compatibility.
Printed tape may be considered for a model or orientation cue. Place print contrast and logo so they do not cover a barcode or shipping label, and check readability across variants.
Monitor palletising and damage observations
Check carton load limits, stacking pattern and pallet overhang. Stretch wrap may help keep cartons together as a unit load, but it cannot correct loose components or inadequate dividers inside the luminaire carton.
For pilot shipments, record carton opening, diffuser scratches, missing fittings and crushing by variant and lot. Use the failure point to decide whether inner layout, board, tape or pallet wrapping needs adjustment.

Frequently asked questions
Can outer carton tape secure accessories inside the luminaire box?
Carton tape closes the outer carton. Organise accessories with dividers or a suitable inner pack.
Can POF film replace a shipping carton for lighting products?
It may be considered for retail multipacks, but should not be assumed to replace the shipper carton or product protection.
