Inspect the box before reuse
A crushed, torn, wet or weakened return carton may need replacement. Check whether removing the previous seal damaged the surface or flaps.
Restore internal protection
Place the product and accessories inside with appropriate cushioning. Reducing voids and movement matters as much as selecting the tape. For fragile goods follow the seller's return instructions and use suitable protective materials.
Choose the sealing tape
Select kraft tape for the carton condition, package weight and shipping environment. Pressure-sensitive and water-activated tapes have different application requirements. Confirm width and suitability using the product data sheet and an application trial.
Review old labels
Place the current return label where it can be read. Remove or cover old barcodes according to the carrier's guidance, and avoid placing labels where they disrupt the seal.
Return checklist
- Are the box and flaps undamaged?
- Can the product move inside?
- Are tape ends sufficient and the surface clean?
- Is the return label correct and readable?
