Mono filament tape generally reinforces along its length, while cross filament tape also reinforces across the width. Construction and performance differ between products.
Force direction and test data
Identify the likely direction of stress in transit. Compare relevant values measured using the same test method and review adhesive compatibility; visible fibres alone do not establish performance.
Trial for a decision
Test candidate tapes on the same carton with the same sealing pattern. Record carton damage, opening and process time to assess the whole package.
