Aluminium foil tape combines a metal foil backing with a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Some products also include a release liner; construction and properties vary by product.
How to select a tape
Consider the substrate, joint geometry, service conditions and required tape width. Foil tapes can be considered for ventilation and insulation work; verify required performance and documentation in the relevant data sheet.
Test before use
Prepare the surface and apply pressure at the temperature specified by the manufacturer. Trial adhesion on a small area of the actual substrate before the full application.
